Drury University’s Graduate Level Social Media Program Faculty

Media Ph.D. —  Jonathan Groves is a longtime journalist and assistant professor of media and journalism @ Drury University.  Jonathan teaches writing for the Web, Web design, journalism, and media-usage theory.  He’s also a tech geek who tweets regularlyblogs about media issues, and writes electronic music.

 

 

 

 

Marketing Ph.D. — Regina Waters is a professor of PR and marketing and the communication department chair @ Drury University.  Regina teaches PR writing, campaigns, and strategic issues management.  She’s also pretty fond of social networking.

 

 

 

 

Strategic Comm. Ph.D. — Curt Gilstrap is an associate professor of communication, and the director of the Graduate Program in Communication Studies @ Drury University.  Curt teaches presentation skills, rhetorical theory, ethics, social media and environmental discourse.  He also launched the startup PitchPaper.com and spends his downtime with his family.  He hopes to complete his first novel in 2012.

 

 

 

 

Tech. & Comm Ph.D. — Bart Collins is a research professor in ehealth and distance communication @ Purdue University.  Bart teaches Web design and research methods, and keeps lots of graduate students in line with their research goals and time lines.  He also plays a mean guitar.

 

 

 

Social Media Nuts & Bolts —Deltina Hay, M.A., author of the program’s primary social media text, is a veteran Web developer, publisher, and a pioneer of social media and Web 2.0. When she is not teaching or consulting, Deltina can be found in a wireless cafe contemplating the future of the Web, or deep within a state park contemplating silence.

 

 

 

Content Contributor/Adjunct  Jeff Riggins, M.A. is a health IT consultant and Director of Drury’s Graduate Certificate in Digital Health Communication.  He earned a graduate certificate in social media while completing his master’s program in integrated marketing.  Jeff enjoyed his time at Drury so much that he decided to stick around.  Seriously, we can’t get rid of him.
